Closed Sessions has teamed up with international clothing brand LRG for a new edition of the Closed Sessions series. The new sessions feature artists that match the aesthetics and style of both brands, while adding something original and authentic to music and culture. Documented entirely by RubyHornet.com, the trips includes a photo shoot incorporating Chicago's rich culture, a performance at one of the city's freshest venues, and a tour of Chicago hot spots. It all leads up to the Closed Session recorded at SoundScape Studios, where the artist creates a brand new song ready for your consumption. Check back each month for new sessions, new artists, and new music. The first artist to participate in this new series was Warner Bros' Outasight, who also teamed up with LRG on the Further EP.
In between video shoots, and finishing his debut album, Outasight came to the windy city for the Closed Sessions experience. Documented entirely by RubyHornet.com, Outasight's trip included a photoshoot with Virgil Solis, a visit to WHPK's CTA Radio, a performance @SuperfunParty, and a Closed Session with Naledge of Kidz In The Hall at SoundScape Studios. Hit the jump to see the documentary, and visit hit the new Closed Sessions x LRG site for behind the scenes pics and to download the song.

Here is another leak from Curren$y's forthcoming Pilot Talk release (street date 7.13.10). Smoke Dza (who is reportedly about to land his own major label deal) is on board for the assist and pays homage to Naledge of Kidz In The Hall by re-upping his "higher than giraffe pussy" line... "Nothing But Us" contains Curren$y's now famous pre-verse mumbling over a slow-rolling beat that is heavy on the horn. Ski Beatz gets the production credit, and it can be found below.

I'm told that Chicagoan ReggieKnow is the godfather of Hip Hop marketing, and legend has it, the creative force between Sprite's "Obey Your Thirst" campaign. His new joint is Fashion Figure Inc., producing 12" action figures based off the main characters in his animated series, "This Day". The pieces, as well as additional photographs will be on display Thursday July 8th at Toy Tokyo in New York City. The event will celebrate the launch of FFInc. as well as the 10 year anniversary of Toy Tokyo. More shots of the figures, the official event flyer, and as short trailer are all after the jump.

Yesterday a video leaked of Beanie Sigel venting about Jay-Z and Roc-a-Fella records. Bean's anger directed towards Jay-Z is beyond music, and centers on Sigel's feelings that Jay let him down, dishonored their friendship. It's out of my realm to comment on that. I've never been in legal problems to the extent of Sigel, nor had my freedom taken away. So, all the venom spewed in the video at Jay-Z may or may not be justified. What I reference in my title is just the fact that Beans only seems to be on any website, newspaper, magazine etc because of negativity. The recent viral videos has amassed over 60,000 views simply because a down and out emcee speaks ill against possibly the greatest rapper in Hip Hop right now and then attacks Hip Hop's most promising star, Drake. The Drake diss comes out of nowhere, and again, will bring nothing positive to anybody. Sigel won't see any boost in sales of his music because there are none. Drake's not going to say s**t back because he's too busy touring late night talk shows, and he's smart enough to realize he has nothing to gain by going against the Broad Street Bully. But that's what a bully does, and that's why the bullys never win.
I enjoy some of Sigel's music, and honestly hope things work out for him. But as the Beatles say "If you go around talking about minds that hate, you're not going to make it with anyone anyway... But you know it's going to be alright..." Let's hope the last part works out for Sigel. See the video I'm talking about below.

Here's a first look at a new style of the gold-standard from Clarks, the 'Rock' Wallabee. The 'Rock' Wallabee draws inspiration from hiking boots, featuring brown leather, d-ring lace loops, and a new, braided lace. Combine that with a reinforced sole and you've got every Clarks fan's dream. Of course, Clarks gets all the detailing perfect with the final touch of tanned leather around the top. These are looking great and it's good to see Clarks playing with their classics a bit. Look for these to drop worldwide in August.
