Good times for followers of Vampire Weekend’ music. After Cecile’s superb rendition of “White Sky” comes the CDQ-version of Basement Jaxx’s translation of the tune which has been offered as a Radio Rip before. Hands down, it can’t hurt to listen to this edit as much as possible.

Being hailed as one of Hip Hop’s next big things is usually more curse than a gift. While people keep comparing him to Jay-Z and Nas during their early stages, J. Cole has been working hard to create an identity of its own. Offered track, “Premeditated Murder”, is such an example. The song finds the North Caroline MC reflecting on the bumpy road to prominence. The high level of lyricism, offered on this cut – cannot be denied as it sets him apart from contemporary rappers. Furthermore, keeping in mind that “Premeditated Murder” leaves one wondering what else this Roc Nation signee has in store. We will keep J. Cole in heavy rotation until we find out.

Here is another leak from Curren$y's forthcoming Pilot Talk release (street date 7.13.10). Smoke Dza (who is reportedly about to land his own major label deal) is on board for the assist and pays homage to Naledge of Kidz In The Hall by re-upping his "higher than giraffe pussy" line... "Nothing But Us" contains Curren$y's now famous pre-verse mumbling over a slow-rolling beat that is heavy on the horn. Ski Beatz gets the production credit, and it can be found below.

I'm told that Chicagoan ReggieKnow is the godfather of Hip Hop marketing, and legend has it, the creative force between Sprite's "Obey Your Thirst" campaign. His new joint is Fashion Figure Inc., producing 12" action figures based off the main characters in his animated series, "This Day". The pieces, as well as additional photographs will be on display Thursday July 8th at Toy Tokyo in New York City. The event will celebrate the launch of FFInc. as well as the 10 year anniversary of Toy Tokyo. More shots of the figures, the official event flyer, and as short trailer are all after the jump.
