Kidz In The Hall celebrated the release of their third LP, The Land of Make Believe, on Tuesday March 9th.  Naledge and Double O rocked Cleveland as part of their first headlining tour.  They were joined on stage by Chip Tha Ripper, and Donnis, and it was captured by M Stacks and neatly posted... I spent quite a bit of time with Tanya Morgan's Don Will last weekend.  We linked up and visited some of the location spots for "High Fidelity" which was filmed in Chicago and serves as the inspiration behind Don's 3.23.10 release, Don Cusack In High Fidelity.  That video will be coming soon on RubyHornet, and for now you can dig on a preview for Don's forthcoming "Love Junkie" video.  See it after the jump.

Is making a rap song really so easy that anyone can do it?  That's the question my fellow Chicago writer, and Hip Hop enthusiast, Kyra Kyles is examining in her recently launched Ringtone Rap Project.  Teaming up with Chicago-based producer Anton Genius, Kyra Kyles is going to create a song using simplistic lyrics, sparse production, and the good old hype machine.  She can explain the whole thing much better than me, and you can find said description at her blog.  You can also see the first part of the project in action in the video posted below.  

Last week Lil' Wayne and Eminem gave us a preview of their video for "Drop The World", and today we have the full clip.  Even a shiny video can't make this song better than it really is.  

The wait is over. It has been a decade since renowned hip hop duo composed of rapper Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek have released their first album, Train of Thought, in 2000. Ever since the group remained silent. However, today marks the day of their official reunion as the new video to their comeback single “In This World” hits the digital waves. Director Punit Dhesi enhances his creation by utilizing visual effects by Steven Tapia in order to emphasize RE’s input on the Hip Hop culture. Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek have been constantly known for delivering thought provoking lyrics plus fine beats. It is good they are doing this together again. Their long-awaited sophomore album, “Revolutions Per Minute” is slated for a release April 20th.

Co$$ is finishing up his debut album.  I'm told it's pretty dope...  Here's his latest that came my way last night entitled "Dub Plate".  Always one to offer insight, Co$$ tells us:

Anyone who knows me personally or musically knows I have the utmost reverence for the "old skoo", so I thought I'd prove it by laying one of those throw back 80s/90s inspired joints...I hit up my nigga Playa Haze because I knew he could cook up one of those old skool joint with that classic boom bap feel..I came up on a variety of MCs, from Pimp C to Daddy Kane, Planet Asia to MC Lyte, they all inspired me to do what I do today, so enjoy the joint, and respect the Old School ya'll, without the past there would be no present....R.I.P. Vogue has brought beauty and fashion news to readers all over the world with their many international editions, now they're sharing that style with the folks of Turkey. The very first Turkish Vogue hit newsstands last week featuring Canadian model, Jessica Stam on the cover. 

I think it's great that Turkey has their own edition of Vogue, but why not put a Turkish model on the cover? Why go Canadian? Just a thought...

This song and video just isn't that dope to me, but I feel like it's the "you just don't get it if you don't like it" song of the moment.  It kind of seems like people are remembering The Gorillaz as bigger than they were, or I'm just missing something.  I'm a fan of the band and all, but not a blind fan...
